Wintergrass 2017 Fretboard Journal Workshop

The workshop schedule is now posted on the Wintergrass 2017 site and you will see that the Fretboard Journal folks are again hosting a vintage instrument workshop - this year with John Reischman playing mandolins and Scott Nygaard and Eli West on guitars. The workshop is set for Saturday, February 25th from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon in the Regency Ballroom at the Hyatt. It also looks like there will be some time after the workshop to hang around to talk about instruments for a while for those who have an interest.

We have some very cool instruments lined up but are always looking for a few more. If anyone going to Wintergrass is planning to bring a cool mandolin family instrument along that they would be willing to share and considered to be played on stage at this workshop, please contact me and let know what you have.

This workshop has been a highlight in past years (with David Grisman, Mike Compton, Kenny Smith, Chris Eldridge, Julian Lage......) and it promises to be great fun again this year so please come out and support this great festival and this workshop. John and Scott released a new CD last summer with Sharon Gilchirst titled "The Harmonic Tone Revealers" - for those who have not heard it yet, you are missing out. I am sure we will get to hear some of those tunes at Wintergrass. Hope to see many Mando Cafe hats and stickers walking around with folks at this event.
