I really know nothing about mandolins and I would like help identifying an inherited Gibson mandolin. See the several pictures attached.
The mandolin is symmetrical with two f-holes and 20 frets. It has dots on the bass side of the neck in the same locations as those between some frets. Its body is about 13 1/4" by 10 1/4" (Not sure exactly how to measure). "4130 27" is stamped in blue ink inside the box below the f-hole on the treble side.
