Default Rude to lurk too long

It always feels rude to 'lurk' and I have been for a good while now.

So, by saying hello, hopefully, I will feel able to join in as opposed to living my Mando-life vicariously.

I'm learning from on-line options but I enjoy the playing and am slowly becoming more competent to a 'basic' level from numerical 'tab's.

Uk, Cotswolds based. Uk /US Folk inspired/interested. Here to learn and hopefully develop some technique as ( and if ) I begin to get 'all' the notes in the right order.

Welcome to our wild, wacky world. As Paul says you are in for a lot of fun. Remember, lurking is never bad when a mandolin is involved.

I lurked for many years also before joining mainly due to my bashfulness and intimidation, but I'm slowly coming out of my shell as I get older I think. I figured I might as well get in here and live a little while I can lol....welcome

Welcome. While I have not ever considered long term lurking to be rude, I am glad to meet you and look forward to chatting with you on all these many topics.

This place is the next best thing to actually playing the mandolin.

    Nigel hello and welcome.
I'm also a lurker and seldom post. There is a "Newbie" social group on the Learn and Listen tab that has some nice folks you may want to check out. This Mandolin Cafe is the only site I look at daily-I check the Classifieds first - love all those fine looking Mandos there.

Hi, Nigel. Welcome. Since you have been lurking, I know you realize that we are a strange bunch. Don't worry though -- we cancel each other out.

Very many thanks for the warm welcome and the recommendation of the Newbies Group. It looks like exactly what I need to help me progress past my 'plinking' notes in the prescribed order (& occasionally correct 'time') stage.

Welcome from another UK (Scotland) resident. The Cafe is just such a great place and my first go-to site each day. Always something of interest to be found.

Welcome Nigel. Would that be north Cotswolds or south Birmingham? I'm not that far away, edge of the Peak District but far too close to south Manchester!

Welcome from a fellow UK member! Lurking does no harm (at least on the internet i guess). I lurked, then joined, then forgot i joined, then realised and decided to stick around. Lots of useful information here, i keep finding new things to learn about. Enjoy your mandolin adventure!

We have a different name for lurking. It's called reading, and everyone that arrives here is welcome to do as much of it as they please. Welcome.
