Default Rest in peace - Antonina (Toni) G Nigreli

CMSA has posted a note about the passing of Toni Nigreli, a key figure, leader and player whose involvement was key in the organization.

The Mandolin Cafe offers condolences to her family, friends and fellow musicians. An online memorial has been established here.

    CMSA's email contained the following:

We are very sad to announce the recent passing of Antonina Nigrelli. Toni was one of the founding members of CMSA, and took on the role of President in 1990, when Norman Levine stepped down. With the exception of this most recent gathering in Philadelphia, Toni had attended every CMSA convention. She was deeply committed to CMSA, and her contribution has been significant. The organization has been made stronger by her presence.

The following link will provide you with a snapshot of Toni’s many musical achievements, as well as information on the Visitation on December 21st and Closing Prayers to be held on December 22nd.

Her music arrangements of Italian classics were an integral part of the SF Mandolin Festival. We are sad to read of her passing.
