Charmed Life Picks- any experience with these?

The recent thread about I-Tone picks got me looking around my bookmarks and I noticed a link to "Charmed Life Picks". My forum 'search' yielded nothing but I thought I remember their being discussed months ago.

Anybody have any personal experience with these picks?

Never heard of them before, but the ones on top (not Brown Series) look a lot like the caseine picks made by Red Bear, John Pearse, Papa's. My local acoustic instrument specialist Dusty Strings has another line but can't remember name.

Looks like the brown ones might be the same stuff as BCs. They are priced slightly less with free shipping. The large triangles have holes like Wegens. Not sure if the TS-looking ones are casein. It is hard to say if they have any bevels.

It started because we're cheap. We heard about this space-age stuff that made great guitar picks, but we're cheap.

So we bought a smidge of this stuff -- a very expensive smidge -- and started tinkering with it.

Our friends got wind of it and begged, “Won't you make one for me?” then more people found out and begged, and pretty soon we're in the frickin' guitar pick business. Geesh.

We're still cheap -- and whenever possible we try to pass the savings along to you.

New information from 'Charmed Life Picks' folks. They have replenished their stock and plan to introduce a "new material" in the near future. NFI.

I've ordered the 1.45 mm "tortoise like" triangle pick and will report on the pick when it arrives.

Okay. I promised.
My Charmed Life Pick arrived today (TAD sized triangle 1.38mm thick) & I spent about 30 minutes comparing it with BC TAD60 & 55. Also compared with Red Bear triangle and also with a "natural substance" pick.

Honestly, it feels and sounds like a Red Bear and much like a "natural". Not quite as quick off the strings as BC, but the pick noise is slightly less noticeable to my ear (maybe lower pitch). Clings to fingers well.

Maybe I'm just getting old, but ALL of these picks feel and sound great as compared to old fashioned plastic. I'd be very happy to use any of the 3 types tested any day of the year. No major practical differences at first testing.

The Charmed Life folks do caution not to try to bend the pick which could cause breakage, and say that getting it wet may result in warping of the pick as could happen with high temperature exposure.
Sounds much like the precautions advised with the Red Bear materials.

Bottom Line: Very nice pick. Free shipping. No downside that I see yet as long as not mistreated. We shall see if any problems turn up later. If so, I will post.
