What is the exact name of the wood used for the neck and back?
Thanks
Beautiful! That quilt is something else, and I love the walnut binding.
Peace
Great quilting!!!! I love that stuff......can't wait to see it finished up! The quilt will glow I'm sure. Beautiful work...Tom
OUTSTANDING!!!
I would be most interested in a description of your binding technique. #I am very attracted to the notion of binding with wood vs plastic (always use wood on guitars) but the extreme corners and turns on an "F" leave me baffled as to HOW one can accomplish that ... obviously you have conqured that little 'issue' and I would be most appreciative for any insight you can offer.

Geeze thats a really sweet mandolin. If it sounds half as good as it looks you have a winner! Nice Job!!!
Thanks for all the kind words. I'll get a few more shots posted when finished. As far as the wood bindings it's just something I like to do. It's almost the most difficult part of the whole mandolin. I know no secrets to bending and using wood binding other than patience and I like to use a soldering iron to bend it with.

The More Strings One Can Play At A Time The Higher His Or Her IQ, Exept In My Case
I would have to say it is for sale. I've been trying to build one for myself for the last few years but someone always seems to want it more than me. I build one at a time and take my time doing it. It's hard to learn to play when you can't seem to keep one.
Here's a few more shots, it's almost done!

Thanks.
Here are some more pics of it. A few people wanted to see it finished so this is the last I'll post.
