    David Aspray does not appear anywhere else on the Cafe. The mandolin actually looks to be well built but the real treasure here is in the auction description:

    tuning pegs turned left or right to meet the correct note on a tuner
    I wish I'd written that.

    If you could find a grommet the right size to fit those sound holes we'd be talking about this as a Blue Comet replica.

    A Google search brings up several links to pages that mention that Dave Aspray made custom pickguards for archtop guitars but every link to his page comes up as broken.

    ah i was going to pull the trigger on it, but it needs a tuning. bleh, ive tried to tune many mandolins. Its hard work and ive never once got one in tune. No thanks not worth it!
