Default William H. Stepp's version of "Ways of the World"

Working on Bill Stepp's version of this great Kentucky old-time fiddle. "Ways of the World" ...I was just wondering if anyone has or can write a good tab version or where I can look for it that I could possibly get from them to help me work on it. It is a great fiddle tune that sounds equally awesome on the mandolin. Just thought I'd throw this out there. Trying to fine tune it more and maybe a different approach etc. Thanks

I have a version in standard notation, if that will help. The tune is traditionally played in A modal tuning AEAE. Its a good one.

Yes, fiddlers always play it in AEAE. Thanks but I don't. (GDAE) standard tuning. I have the standard notation of Bruce Molsky's version in AEAE. Just need a few more ideas on the C part. Probably just need to listen to it another 100 times or so. Greg Clarke plays a cool version I think in G (standard)... Here it is. It's a lot faster than I would play it for sure

I have the version in Milliner Koken collection. Slippery-Hill links the Stepp recording.
I play it considerably slower myself. I like Greg Clarke's version.

I sat down tonight and made a rough recording of the way I'm playing it now in (A) standard tuning on my A4

Sure thing Sandy, my printer/scanner is broke. I can hand write it out and scan from work or if I can figure out how to do it in word might be quicker. Might be a little while. It's pretty rough but I think I have the melody of it.

I've retuned my mandolin an octave down from AEAE to GDGD and played Ways of the World. I think it plays and sounds great, although the tuning is lot of work!
But while you're there you can try other tunes traditionally in AEAE. I'm not sure if Mike Compton's version of Jenny Lynn is in GDGD, but it sure works well there.
