I've been a Bela Fleck fan for some time, I just got an email about him touring with Stanley Clarke on Bass, and Jean-Luc Ponty..
i hope they play somewhere near me!

Craftiness must have clothes,
but truth loves to go naked.
I get to see them at Strawberry this fall, should be a great set!

Let's add some mandolin to this: it was Sam Bush's playing on the Flecktone's "Live Art" album that inspired me to pick up the instrument! Bela is a terriffic musician, and almost always seems to find ways to take big steps...

There was an all star band in the past 10 years, got together to tour a bit & record....called Rite of Strings.......It was Al Dimeola, Stanley Clarke & Jean-Luc Ponty.....they had a CD titled the same, Rite of Strings. I saw them live at Oakland's Paramount Theater.....they did a coupla tours. CD is awesome! This is a great gig for Bela, those other fellas have a BIG jazz fan following, people who might not be into banjo & now will have the opportunity to discover how talented Bela is. Stanley Clarke totally tore it up when I saw them, monster bass player. I see they are on the bill for Telluride. Hope I get to see this tour, sounds interesting.
