    Default Visit to Fiddlers Green

Had to go to Austin on a business trip last week and found time to stop at Fiddlers Green on the way back to the Airport. What a great shop! I couldn't stay near as long as I would have liked and didn't buy anything:-( They were very friendly and let me play a Northfield, a Collings and a Pasernig. All were great Mandolins, I loved the sound of the Collings , but not quite what I am looking for. I am sure that with a little more time I would have found something to take home.

The Passernig is such a work of art. I really love 2 points and this one is a real thing of beauty. The action and playability was also amazing on this instrument. Not quite the tone I am looking for, Different strings might do it. I really liked the feel and look of it. It is a great sounding Mandolin but I liked the tone of the Collings MT better. Far preferred the feel of the Passernig neck, the Collings was a bit too much of a V for me.
