Camille and Kennerley

I have known about Camille and Kennerley for a while now, but have only just taken an interest in them. They are harpists who cover rock songs. Not all of their covers work IMO, but their Metallica covers are awesome.



Their harps are Silhouettes, which cost six thousand dollars each: thirty-three strings with sharpening levers, which by my reckoning stretch to just short of five octaves.

They are an inspiration not just to harp players but to players of melodic instruments generally - and of course you can get a perfectly good mandolin for a lot less than six thousand dollars.

I don't know if I'm qualified to critique harp playing, but certainly seems competent. As for the visual gimmick....I get it, ya gotta get your foot in the door....even Slash had the sunglasses and tophat.....Harpo Marx had the curly wig, tophat and the horn and did the mute thing....and he could really play. Sensing a pattern here, don't know for sure, but for my next band gonna try a tophat, fingerless gloves, sunglasses.......
