    Default A Fun Discovery

So my neighbor saw something I had posted on Facebook recently - a video of Bernardo de Pace, and commented that she was a fan of the mandolin, and that her grandfather played, and she had his mandolin.

Inquiring further, I find out that it's a 1920 Gibson. She doesn't play, but she wants to get together and have me play it!

Now, I am very happy with my current mando (a 2013 Weber Yellowstone HT A) but wow, am I excited to see what a vintage Gibby is like!!!!

Small world it is. Just wanted to share.

Perhaps she's off a little on the date. Could be a '23 or so ? Is it an F-5 ?

No no, that would be BAD karma. She has had it evaluated - it's a 1920 A2 in VG/Ex condition, with original HSC in ex condition. No cracks, a little bit of separation at the back seam, and a slightly cracked tuner button. I am going to get together with her after the new year and give it a good picking!
