Default Corazon de Oro (tango waltz)

This is a famous Argentinian tango waltz, written by Francisco Canaro. I have recorded it as a mandolin quartet (two mandolins, octave mandolin and tenor guitar), adapted from an arrangement for two violins, concertina and guitar by Michel Van Der Meiren. As his site is down, I'm attaching the PDF score here.

It's usually played faster than I do (after the slow intro), but I like the more melancholy mood of the tune at a slower tempo.

    1915 Luigi Embergher mandolin
    Mid-Missouri M-0W mandolin
    Mid-Missouri M-111 octave mandolin
    Ozark tenor guitar

If you like this, also check out the other tango waltz I recorded a few weeks ago, also from one of Michel's arrangements: Criollito.

Cool, thanks for sharing. Nice and melancholy...perfect for the weather we've been having lately.

For the day that's in it .....

I sincerely don't want to transgress posting guidelines, but can't resist drawing attention to the following :

-Tango dancers gather in Vatican to celebrate Pope’s birthday

It’s believed Pope Francis was once a nifty mover on the Tango dance floor

    Quite a thought,

and yet again well done Martin
