I was very shocked and sorrowed to read about Joe's death. May he rest in peace and my heart really goes out to his wife, Paula.

Also shocked to hear this. I have never heard the pleasure of meeting him, but like everyone else I have been a fan of his as I have a few of his books and have been an avid reader of his columns on Mel Bay. It's a big loss to the music commuity, and my condolences to his family.

RIP Joe. I had the pleasure of picking with him once. Great guy and a wonderful player and teacher. My condolences to his family.
