Default Yet another flood victim - Teens A2 re-build

3rd times a charm ? Just got this one Sunday, Guild 335 and an old string bass were saved from the same house; I was hoping this one might be a couple simple seam re-glues but, unfortunately, I'm thinking not, once I got to see it. Once again, for a buddy, but I think he should probably just sell it as is. Whaddaya think, $3-400 as is ? Repair costs would easily equal the value once fixed, who knows. Maybe I'll just do it for the challenge. Original pickguard w/ clamp, and tuners should be worth near $200 or so ?. Anyway, pretty badly warped rim, hard to show in photos, neck has an old repaired split through the heel. Probably should remove the back to repair properly. I'll try and do a vid soon. I'm curious as to trying a finish save. It's interesting how much the water line shows on the back but not nearly at all on the top. I'd guess at least $6-800 to repair for something maybe worth $600 or so if done well ? Case is pretty sad too. Back burner. At least it keeps me busy !Click image for larger version.

Maybe you've done too good work on the others!?

Used to be you could get $125 to $150 for tuners like those, but not any more. More like $75 or so, I'd say. Leave 'em on there if they are working. How close of a buddy is this?

Real close. Was in a Dead cover band in my early 20's (~ 30 years ago). We've been pickin' ever since. He might just give it to me, I don't know; If I get it real cheap I'll probably try the full re-build. Otherwise I think I'll just suggest he sell as is.
