Using Art in Your Videos
Martin Jonas' delightful posts came to mind when I ran across this classical (only if you think Bob Dylan is a classical composer) video by Rhiannon Giddens (of Carolina Chocolate Drop fame) of "Spanish Mary".
Sorry for the intrusion into your normally more sedate ruminations.

Yikes. Someone did a lot of graphics and video work on this video. The singer is wonderful, I wish I knew more about her and the band. I think the song is an old Irish or Appalachian ballad. In any case this is a great story, with interesting modern blues singing, bluegrass and old time, and rock licks. This seems to be the bluegrass/ pop style that everyone listens to nowadays. Well done.

Rhiannon was the lead for the "Carolina Chocolate Drops", a group that played traditional American negro music from the 18th Century. She was classically trained at Oberlin. Wiki will give you the details. She is broadening her reach these days. This video is part of a recreation of the Dylan Basement Tapes by Tbone Burnett. The song is from those tapes, I believe and was a Dylan creation.
She's a fine singer.
