    Default Denver midi stores.

Looking for some quick help here. I find myself in Denver with a few hours to kill this afternoon before a flight. Any good stores to check out that sell mandos? I went to the pickin parlor yesterday and had a great time. Thanks for your help

Got to the Denver Folklore Center last March. Yes, it's still going strong, with lots of interesting stuff. Celebrated their 50th year with a weekend of concerts about 2 or 3 years ago. And Harry Tuft is a truly remarkable character! I believe that he still has the (real live Gibson) Loar for sale, even if it is stashed away in a vault somewhere.

Guess I was not concise? I meant if Jazzjune18 was still in town! It's where I bought my Weber

I just got back from from the Denver folklore Center. I'm currently at the airport and it turns out that I left my jacket there. They were such great people that they are going to ship it to me. They had very good mandolins, although I didn't inquire about thegibson. Although they are definitely great people and I would recommend everyone in Denver check them out

+1 for Denver Folkore Center! Still have the Ode/Muse banjo I bought there in 1967, and did my first public performance at their open mic in 1966 (was a PFC at Ft. Carson at the time).

Fatt-Dad, (and anyone else who might be in the Denver area) there are only two 'Acoustic' style music stores in the Denver area that I am aware of. The Olde Town Pickin' Parlor and The Denver Folklore Center. Both will have several mandolins (from low to higher end, Kentucky, The Loar, Eastman, Weber, Collings, vintage Gibsons, etc) and lots of guitars in stock, as well as a full range of accessories. I have done business with both over the years and both are great stores with knowledgeable people. Google 'em for location, etc. There are also two or three Guitar Centers.

There is also an acoustic style store in Colorado Springs, about 60 miles down the interstate from Denver. I have never visited it, but have heard great things about it. I think it's called Tejon St. Music They are a Collings dealer, and I'm sure they have a website. There may be similar stores in Boulder (HB Woodsongs?) and Ft. Collins, but I'm not sure.

there is victor guitar on south broadway

there are 2 music go rounds, (mebbee, mebbee not)

there is wedgles, a pawn store that does often have acoustics , but, you better know your stuff....but, they do have nicer things from time to time
there was guitarville, but I don't know if they are still around, another caveat emptor type of place, but sometimes nice things

    and if you can
there is wildwood in nearby Louisville-mostly superb electrics , but they often have some superb acoustics as well, not so much mandos, but occasionally
