I keep hearing about a mando gathering in Inverness, California. That's less than an hour away from me and sure does sound like something I should be attending. Trouble is,I don't have any info on it. What's the deal. Somebody forget to invite me?

Looks like you missed it:

join the co-mando listserv, it is a fun bunch.
Not nearly all the drama of the cafe and much more anarchy, for better of worse.
I just wish my IT guy would let me subscribe![]()
The next Bay Area mando gathering will be in Benicia, tentatively scheduled for the weekend of June 11-12. Probably on Sunday, but we have yet to set an exact date. It will be a Heidenfest, owners of Heiden instruments can meet with Michael (who will be visiting from Canada), compare their instruments etc. But hey, not to worry......a Heiden isn't required for attendance......all types of mandos, their owners & players of other acoustic instruments are welcome. Keep watching the usual channels, here on The Cafe & Comando as the event gets closer, we'll shout it out. So BG Boy, mark your calendar......you're officially invited, nobody forgot to invite you.
Sounds good, thanks. I might be in Grass Valley that weekend though.
I belong to CoMando and I requested Inverness info for a friend who lives in Ca and isnt on CoMando I never got an answer... Must have been a private affair this year.
BG Boy, are you talking about the Grass Valley BG Festival?
I don't see the conflict, as it is the following Father's Day
weekend, June 16-19th.
I go to the CBA music camp, which starts on the 12th.
BG Boy.......we usually gather twice a year, the past few years it has been once in Inverness and once in Benicia.
This started as a Bay Area Comando gathering about 6 or 7 years ago. I've met quite a few nice folks & there have
even been a few bands formed from people who met at these. Maybe you can make it next year.......
Mike, the event was posted repeatedly to CoMando, but I'm sure nothing personal was meant. I went last year, despite knowing nobody, and was warmly welcomed. Nothing private about it at all.
"...while a great mandolin is a wonderful treat, I would venture to say that there is always more each of us can do with the tools we have available at hand. The biggest limiting factors belong to us not the instruments." Paul Glasse
Stumbling Towards Competence
Any chance of holding the event in southern CA at some future time?
Jasona, I didnt start looking for info till my friend in Ca asks about dates as I live in Kentucky so I guess I didnt notice. It wouldn't have hurt somebody to answer my request though. Glad to hear it hasn't gone private for those that live near.
