Ricky Skaggs with Flatt and Scruggs

I once read where Sam Bush said he started playing music after seeing a young Ricky Skaggs on the Flatt and Scruggs TV show.
When I read that, I remembered seeing that. I'm sort of showing my age here, but the memory wasn't very clear. I thought I remembered a little boy walking up to Lester and pulling at his coat tail, and Lester saying "what do you want?".
The Little boy said "I want to pick". I didn't understand what he said and asked my dad, who told me he said "I want to pick".

Well, anyway, I borrowed some videos of old Flat and Scruggs and, sure enough, there was little 7 year old Ricky Skaggs saying "I want to pick" almost exactly like I remember it! He came back later and sang Ruby, staring straight ahead with Earls banjo right in his left ear.

Does anybody else remember seeing that? Boy, those old videos bring back memories I didn't even know I had!

..John..Ive seen footage of that...must have been nice to have actually been there...looking back I bet you didnt expect that little coat tugger would soar so stardom huh?

I remember it. Great stuff. I just watched somthing where they showed a clip of it. They also showed it on CMT's Lost Highway.

Flatt called him "Little Ricky SCraggs" from Louisa, Kentucky.
