    Default Spokane Mandolin Symposium

I just heard about this at last night's jam; Anyone here going? Anyone gone before? Below is a link to the one in 2012; I hear it's going to be the same place and time this year on 11/15/14.

This is now called the Spokane Mandolin Congress, not to be confused with the greater Mandolin Symposium in Santa Cruz, but with a similar mission. To be held again on Saturday November 15th in Spokane, it will bring Radim Zenkl and Pete Martin to join the panel of other local mandolin instructors.

For information, contact Daniel Gore at 509-838-9135 or danielcgore@msn.com .

Concerts by the panel to take place in the evening at the Grande Ronde Cellars in downtown Spokane.

Thanks for the info. No email response from Daniel; do you all have info on location, time, cost/donation, etc.?

No I am not as I don't play choro. I think either Radim or Dan is doing that.

It was a lot of fun, about 50 students of all levels and variety of playing interests. Dan Gore puts on a cool event in his house, so he keeps it to this number. Go if you get a chance.

I had the pleasure of teaching at the event for the 3rd year in a row (workshops on blues and old-time mandolin). This year Dan added more mini-concerts which was a nice addition. Kudos to Dan Gore for all his hard work and for the work of all that helped make the Mandolin Congress both a success and a blast!

I had a great time. Dan was a great host. A full day of workshops followed by an evening of great music and then jamming back at Dan's. Already looking forward to next year! This congress has the highest approval rating I can give.
