    Default Gorilla Snot

No one seems to carry Gorilla Snot in the small jars any longer. I can find it in large jars. (I think it's the same stuff many people use as mousse on their hair to hold it in place.)

I found a great replacement. ProGrip Non-Slip Grip Cream is pretty much the same stuff. It come in a small jar and is available at most bowling alleys.

As I've gotten older, my skin has gotten drier and occasionally, it's tough to hold the pick without it slipping around. Gorilla Snot has been a life saver.

But from what we read on this site it is terrible for wood instruments.

When i worked in the printing industry i used rubber cement on my index finger tip to easily grip one sheet of paper and move it without having to pick it up with two fingers. It speeded up single sheet paper handling tremendously. Another solution is to use a red "rubber finger" as sold in paper and computer supply stores. I think a rubber finger would work great for your purposes also.

Buy or try out a friends Blue Chip pick. The material that they are made from has excellent grip-ability. R/

I use "Stick-um", find it in craft shops or old style hardware stores. It's used to keep candles stuck to the cup when the fit isn't great. It's a soft paraffin type material, I have used the same little tub for about three years now and it barely shows a dip! Cheap too!about three bucks a container. Much cheaper than "snot". I learned about this years ago and was "sworn to secrecy" but, hey if it makes for better pick control, I am not denying anyone proper tools!
Sorry Betsy, I had to share!

Amazon has a half dozen listings for it under musical instruments. Check out any music store that deals with drums as well.

    http://www.amazon.com/Gorilla-Snot-O...s=gorilla+snot

    Musicians Friend sells it:

    Janet Davis Music sells it:

Elderly sells a look alike. It appears to be a Pro-Grip product as well:

And Gorilla Snot is all over eBay:

I think it varies for each person. I think the grip-ability of Blue Chips is terrible. Way too slippery for me.

I've had to use a piece of 800 grit sandpaper on my other picks for better staying grip.

After I bought my first Blue Chip, I gave my Gorilla Snot away.

Tried Gorilla Snot at one time out of curiosity - did not really help. Now I am using rosin powder.
