Default I did it! Practice pays off...

During bluegrass ensemble tonight I finally was able to nail the 4 fingered G chop chord... without even thinking about it!

I've been working on it daily for the past few weeks, and it just finally clicked tonight.

I was just reading a thread the other day, and someone mentioned keeping the pad of your thumb on the back of the neck. I took this to mean the pad of your thumb on your palm. Well, it works like a charm.

Of course... I can't find the thread now... but to he that mentioned it, thank you!!

Its magical how the body eventually does well what you do over and over again.

At first I used to practice because everyone said I should. But soon enough when I saw for my self real OMG results, I became addicted.

Was it really practice, or might talent be involved? (ducking, running)

Very cool, congratulations. It's a big hurdle for a lot of folks to clear.

Nice one! I'm still at the point where I'm playing the open G for a strum before the other fingers catch up same with the D one..

I remember practicing the G to the D four finger chords until I wanted to cry and almost gave up all together. Now I can't imagine life without it and still think it's a cool thing for my fingers to accomplish.
