Default Sierra Hull in Carrboro, N.C.

August has been a good month for mandolin-centered concerts in Carrboro, with performances from Mike Compton, Mike Marshall and Caterina Lichtenberg, and now Sierra Hull.

She said from the stage that this was her first-ever performance in Carrboro.

What event was this? Can't believe I missed it and I'm so close. I need a list of events to know what's going on.

I've been out of town and missed all of these! Although, I just found out if be in town for the Chris Thile, Edgar Meyer concert Oct. 8th at the Carolina Theater in Durham. Managed to get a decent seat. FYI. The Triangle is a great place to see concerts from a diverse range of musical acts.

This was the last set of a free daytime gig at the Cat's Cradle, linked to the 25th anniversary of UNC's Southern Folklore Collection.

If you expand this excellent Mandolin Month to the Triangle as a whole, we also saw Chris Thile and Nickel Creek (in Cary) and Tony Williamson (in a free Raleigh show). It's entirely likely that I've omitted some other cool gigs in the area during the course of what has been an excellent month for fine mandolin.

I saw her several days earlier; Thursday, August 21st; at Big Top Chautauqua in Wisconsin. Her warm up act was Barefoot Movement; extremely entertaining and fine musicians to boot. Sierra came out wearing very high high heels, which she removed later in the show; and yes she is quite short? No shortage of talent though; she and here band are amazing? I know Sierra has been nominated for mandolin player of the year this year and several times in the past? Her time has come and there are few more deserving; incredible talent.

I missed this too and I'm local .... is there a way to get updates on local concerts? I would have loved to see her in person!
