Ken Ratcliff said he hand carves everything from scratch. Because of the 1850 redwood top he had a learning curve. Note how much belly the top and back have. He has to hand make the bridge. There's a lot of air in there and you can feel it ( I know it's not supposed to be against you but it sometimes I do ). This thing is so woody and very loud. It looks like it's 150 years old (and the top is and then some). Note the unusual shape of the truss rod cover.
