Thread: Another Bach-Book

    Default Another Bach-Book

Recently, there was a compilation of resources for those, wishing to explore Bach on the mandolin. If you are a tab-player, you might add Rob MacKillops "Bach's Cello Suites 1-3 arranged for Tenor Banjo" to the list.
If you're a strict notation-player, you won't get far with the book, since the tenor banjo is tuned a 5th deeper, but the tablatures work for any instrument tuned in 5ths.
Just to give you an idea, I recorded the first few measures of the Bourrée 1 of the third cello suite. https://soundcloud.com/tele1310/bourree-i

And here's the entire bourrée, played on my Pomeroy A oval-hole strung with Galli chrome steel strings

I get an error message when I try to access the first clip. Nicely done on the second bourree.. What difference do you find using chrome steel strings rather than the phosphor bronze?

Guess I eliminated the first one from my soundcloud account.
Well, I use the chrome steel strings because they are supposed to sound a little more classical. They seem to be lighter.
