But seriously (almost), I never speak his name, because he just doesn't come up in conversation anywhere in my life other than here. And conversations here are not out loud. Reason being, no one I know knows who he is or what he does or has done. Are you surprised? Do you think he's famous or something?
But I ever were to, I would say "Theel." That's how John Paul Jones says it, and he's met him, so that's good enough for me.

Prolly. They're not as involved in the mandolin gestalt as we are. Got other things on their minds. The upside is they don't know any better, so they think I'm the best.I have chosen to humbly accept their praise, and not hurt their feelings by correcting them.

I wondered myself the other day, so I looked around at interviews etc and it is pronounced "thee-lee"
I had thought it to be "Theel", but I was wrong.

Snark noted. However, for what it's worth, (1) Wiki ain't research because (2) you never know who's posting on Wiki and (3) what the source is, therefore, is unknown, and therefore (4) you never know how reliable it is.
