I always wanted an A Style Mandolin and bought myself one this past May. I bought a Loar LM-400 with a CA Bridge and a nice hard case. Now I do have an F-style but since playing both I really love the A-style a lot more. Now I want to take it to the Bluegrass Jams and will be the odd man out because they all have F-Styles. Wondering will I be thrown out or considered and a rebel and outlaw. I love the looks of the F-style but love playing and feel comfortable with the A-Style like I said before a whole lot more. It seems to just fit me and I am quite a bit more comfortable playing it. This is a great mandolin for the money and will take me through the rest of my beginners into advanced for sure.
I was thinking maybe the reason I love A-Style mandolins more now that I own both styles is because I am a Bluegrass guitar player and feel and easy transistion from Guitar to Mandolin that kind of hangs like a guitar. I am not sure the real reason why, but I do know I just love the feel and looks of a A-Style Mandolin. Anyone on this forum feel the same way or have any input on this?
