For the Dawg roots book , each song as MULTIPLE listings (2-6) where you can find audio versions of the songs, from the Acoustic Disc catalog and other sources. For the Dawg grass book the references are mostly ACD and Acoustic Oasis downloads.
Really quite a nice couple of books. Each song is reduced to about a page of tablature plus standard notation and there is no notation of solos, just the main mandolin parts of the songs. The separate section in the back that just has the standard notation. For the Dawg grass book there are pages for each of the mandolin parts on the twin and triple mandolin songs.
Yeah, some of the material is the same as from some other Grisman transcription books- but this is the condensed version (with a little history and some pictures). Much more approachable than a long note for note transcription of the solo with the tab and standard notation all on the same page with so many measures so each song has multiple page turns (like some of the Shady Grove transcription book).
