Just received my Pomeroy F-4 yesterday (Ides Of March).

My primary instrument for years has been guitar. I own a half-dozen superb guitars, and am used to describing the sound that each makes.

I'm well aware that at 53 I've never heard anyone get a custom instrument made and say, "Well, it stinks!" And you should NEVER hear that, when dealing with a custom builder.

And I won't be the first!

With that in mind, my F-4:

LOUD - as someone said, the sound chamber is alive!
TONE - pure and simply, sweet. Appears that it can do anything that you ask it to do.
BALANCE - incredibly even. Great bass, chilling treble, haunting mid-tones.
APPEARANCE - as Don's son said, looks like a 'perfectly toasted marshmallow". It is simply gorgeous. The flame in the wood, the attention to detail, etc. Even the flame on the back of the neck is stunning!

And I like the case - Modern Case Company.

I couldn't be more pleased. Played it for an hour first thing this morning. Going back to play it for another hour.

It sounds like the pictures I posted look, if that makes any sense.

(NOTE: My computer is in the shop being fixed, should have it back in a couple of days. That's why it took till today to post a review. I came to the library to use one of theirs!)

To say you'll be pleased with #65 is an understatement.
    Be excited. Be VERY excited!

Hey; glad to hear your enthusiasm! I just got my #44 F5 back from the shop and finally have had a good chance to grow a little more accustom to it. I'm amazed at the clarity and pure ringing bell like tones from it. #To say "the sound chamber is alive" is a very apt description. I'd be very curious to try one of Don's F4 or oval-A's. #
I like the Modern case too; especially the straps.

LKN2MYIS, I almost missed the note you left me at the bottom, thanks, appreciated.
Congrats on the new F4. After reading your review I am a nice blend of envy and excitement.
When you get your puter back and running I think you should post a picture of you holding your new baby!
I will keep on the lookout for more review, more I say.
    Good words for the chamber.

Fantastic! Glad you're happy with it. Wait till it gets some playing time on it and breaks in a little. It's a beautiful thing.

By the way, your #64 made it up on Don's website already, in the recently completed section. Looks very nice there too. Congratulations.

Okay, been a full day and I haven't put it down.

Easy to play, works with ANY type of music, and I love to look at it.

    It should be illegal, it's so much fun . . . . . .
