Very nice, and I like those cases as well! It was cool to see how much Jeff personally does to these instruments in your other thread...

Sound is awesome. Hard for an old guitar player like me to get used to the tuning of this.

Very nice. I really like the wavy thing on the headstock. Is that standard?

Great mandolin -- Jeff really has those J Boviers pinned down. The plush of the case is so rich looking -- awesome acquisition!

That LoPrinzi is one of my favorites. Funny story, I was in Hawaii a while back and wanted a Uke, so I got one from Kamoa Ukulele's. Had it shipped to Virginia, but it had a dead note. A "C" played anywhere on the neck, on any string, was just dead. Sounded like you were muting it with your palm. Sent it back, and ended up with a refund. So I hunted around music shops in 100 mile radius for a nice uke...and I found that LoPrinzi...It sounded like NOTHING I had yet top put my hands on. It was a little expensive, but I HAD to have it.

I got my Nova on a trade for a mandolin. Its a much better uke than I have any right to own, but for now its a fun diversion from guitar & mando! I suspect the LoPrinzi will more or less hold its value if I ever want to sell/trade it.

I got it basically to play along with my high school students. It seems that ukes are very popular with them & there are 5 or 6 players in my class. When we have parties I generally take some combination of guitar, mando & uke for them (& me! :-) to play. Have been having some fun!

    Take care,

    Frank

So Gary, What do you think of your JB, now that you've had a week or so to get it "played in" and familiar?

Certainly one of the nicest instruments I own. I love the K&K Pickup system in to my Carvin AG100. Now I just need to learn to play this thing.

I just bought a J Bovier F5 tonight, and I agree that they are an amazing instrument.
They are so beautiful, the sound is awesome.
It is clear and bright, but has a nice woody sound.
I can't stop looking at mine.
