    Here it is in G major. Guess you could transpose it/capo it.

    Song is Low Bridge, written around 1910 when they were re-doing the Erie into the much larger Barge Canal, which could accommodate powered boats (bye-bye, Sal!).

    I've heard Pete Seeger ID-ed as the one who changed the original "fifteen years on the Erie Canal" to "fifteen miles, on the Erie Canal" which is how it's always sung today.

    I do it in B minor (verse) and D (chorus), but with a capo on the 2nd fret of my guitar; using un-capoed chords, it would be:

    [Am]I got a [C] mule, and her [Dm} name is [E7] Sal,
    [Am]Fifteen miles/years on the Erie [E7]can- [Am] al.
    [Am]She's a good ol' [C]worker, and a [Dm] good ol' [E7] pal,
    [Am]Fifteen miles on the Erie [E7]can- [Am] al.

    [C]We've hauled some barges in our [G] day,
    [Am]Filled with lumber, coal and [E7] hay,
    And [Am] we know [C]every [Dm] inch of the [E7] way,
    [Am]From Albany to Buf- [E7] fa- [Am] lo [G]

    [C]Low bridge, everybody [G] down,
    [C]Low bridge, for we're coming [G] to a [C] town;
    [C]And you'll always know your [F] neighbor, you'll [C]always know your [F] pal,
    If you've [C] ever navi- [F] gated on the [C]Erie [G]Can- [C] al. [E7] to transition back to verse.

    For D chords, just raise everything one whole step; Am=Bm, C=D, Dm=Em, E7=F#7 -- chorus chords C=D, F=G, G=A.

    Enjoy!
