Default Mid Mo Octave on Ebay

People often express an interest in these, so I thought I'd post this. They don't turn up often and there weren't many made to begin with. No financial interest on my part.

It looks as though it could use a bath.

I have a Mid-Mo octave, and it's an excellent instrument. Mine is all-mahogany (the only OM they ever made like that) -- the spruce/maple combination is likely to have a more conventional tone. If I were looking for an OM, I'd go for this one, especially given the low starting price. No idea why the top looks so mottled in the photos.

I'm seriously tempted. I have a Big Muddy mandolin and I would love to have an octave. I'll be curious to see how high the bidding goes.

Looks as if it were in a pile of stuff in a dirty dusty room.

A dirtburst finish? I'd be more interested to know what the two "dimples" are.

Martin's mahogany MidMo is a lot more appealing to look at, IMO.

I sent the seller a message asking about the top, and he said it's just the appearance of the stain. Looks weird.
