so sorry for you Peter.
Is that mando in fact left handed?
If so, I would think that alone could make it much easier to track.
btw, curiously,
is that the same stelling of US banjo manufacturer fame?
Here's the text of the linked article from Pete's post. It really is a lefty, really is a Stelling, and was not stolen from Peter. It happened in Brunswick, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia.

Thanks David. I didn't mean to imply it was stolen from me.
Click the link Steve - It's called HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP).
hey , I realized it was in blue, but didn't realize it was a link. sorry
From stevedenver - "btw, curiously,is that the same stelling of US banjo manufacturer fame ?" .Yes it is Steve. Geoff Stelling has had mandolins built for him by a few makers, the first one i believe was Jiri Lebeda in the Czech.Republic,& then a few other US builders built for him,

I posted Anna's original post on FB too. This all really sucks because she is a dedicated player. I hope she gets it back soon.
Kim Breedlove was the first to build Stelling mandolins, in California starting in the '70s. Stelling mandolin building was revived by 'yours truly' in Virginia, 24 years ago this month . Others have been made by Ward Elliott, Jiri Lebeda (designated LS-5 rather than S-5 as the American made ones are designated), and David Houchens. The Lebeda-built ones were introduced in 1998, apparently.
I don't know what the Q in S-5Q means, and I don't know who built this lefty, but I hope it is soon returned to it's owner!

I'm guessing that since only 151 S5's have been built, it's between Ward Elliott or David Houchens that built #S138. David H. might can add to this since he is in the process of building #S152. I do hope she gets it back intact. I wonder if "Q" is for left hand versions. Kenny B.

Not sure, but I think the "Q" is for Quilted, designating it being made from quilted maple.
