Ive been searching for a dusty miller- bill mon version but i cant find one. The ones on mandozine just dont sound right and i cant seem to find them anywhere else.
Anybody have a suggestion before i start sounding it out note-by-note of bill mon's?

Here is an excellent live version of Bill Monroe playing The Dusty Miller. He plays the 'third' part that was not included in his recording of this favorite on his 'Blue Grass Time' album. Enjoy

Or, if you'd like to hear and see Bill play Dusty Miller, buy the 1st installment of the two part Bill Monroe instructional tapes/DVDs on Homespun. #There's a mighty fine Dusty Miller on there.

sorry but i think ive been unclear.
I have a version of "Bill Monroe and his Bluegrass Boys" playing Dusty Miller, however I cannot find the tabs.
I have a video of him playing dusty miller and supposedly i could just try and learn it from ear and watching his fingers. However, both are extremley fast, so i would like to find a tab that tells me the exact notes.
    thanks

I expect, but haven't rummaged around to find the booklet, that Sam Bush tabs out Monroe's version in the booklet that accompany's the two-video Homespun tapes. He (Bush) may also do a slowdown analysis on the second tape.
This is now available on DVD; that could allow you to play with it real well..

Check out Mike Compton's blistering version on the Little Grasscals album. Also, of course, the version on Bluegrass Mandolin Extravaganza.

    Thanks Kevin and evan.
    ...and moose i guess.
I dont really need the tab, any form will work, i just figured that, because Bill didnt read music, it would be in tab.
I downloaded the ronnie mccoury version off mandozine but it kinda sounds different from the melody that bill and many others play it.

Kirby, I have a version in tab and notes that J. Reischman put together for a workshop a long time ago. I need to go back and look but I think he was pretty true to the way Monroe picked it. Post your email address.
