Thread: Delaware Valley Bluegrass Festival

  1. #1

    Default Delaware Valley Bluegrass Festival

Anyone going? Looks to be a good lineup this year--- Compton, McCoury, Della Mae, Sierra Hull, Gibson Brothers and a bunch more.

I'm probably going to do the jam class (which I've actually done before) for the opportunity to meet others and play in a (fairly) stress free environment.

I hope to be there on Saturday, with a mando or Martin LX1. The BP Sales tent is a good place to meet and jam.

BP? By the way, Scott gave me some of the new mando cafe stickers I can bring and give out. He sends them because we do a mando tasting up at Greyfox every year. I see some coming Friday, some sat and some on sunday... no conesensus.
I will be camped out to the left of the music area, look for a silver RV "pleasure way" and a liittle guy teardrop trailer parked together... feel free to stop on by

Alan and I caught up for a few minutes on Saturday evening. I enjoyed playing his Gil. Nice to meet you and put a face with the name!

Same here, buddy! Here's what I posted in another thread...

Drove up to Woodstown, NJ for the 43rd annual fester. Great time, perfect weather, saw many old friends and picked with some new ones. Stage acts were Ralph S., Rhonda, Grass Cats, many others.

Boy howdy, has that festival grown since the last time I was there, 1997. The campground picking was in full force, everything from The Grillbillies to Grateful Dead-type stuff to the real hard-core. I jammed with Bill Runkle - good banjo man, to a fiddle-centric thing, to my old pal Pete Becker, to you name it. Met FredG from this here cafe board. He has a nice Gold Rush with the small f-holes. Supposedly, 2 Loars were in play, I missed them. Great fun all around.

    Next up, IBMA!!

Gosh-- last year I post this and I couldn't find anyone from the cafe out there, this year I don't check back in before going and it looks like there was a good turnout. I was there with my cafe hat and no one stoped me to say howdy.

Oh well, maybe next year I'll met up with some of ya.
