Default Looking for information about an old italian mandolin.

    Hello,

I bought an old italian mandolin at an antique store but I can't find any information about it. The luthier is Antonino Distefano. Here is the information of the label:

    PREMIATA FABRICA
    STRUMENTI MUSICALI A CORDA

    Ispacialitį intarsio in Madreperla

    Antonino Distefano fu Giuseppe
    Casa fundata nel 1898

    Via Acquedotto Greco, 139
    Catania

I couldn't attach photos, it's not working. I'd like to know more about this instrument and the maker. I hope you can help me! Thanks!

There are more Italian mandolin makers than ants you can count on a Tennessee ant hill.

This one was made in Catania, Sicily, one of the larger areas in italy for fretted instrument manufacturing.

It's a different model, but it's the same luthier. Thanks allenhopkins!Click image for larger version.
