With my new emando rig, (which I'll write about on Monday) what cables should I track down? #Are you all using special cables from emando to mixer/amp/PA? #Monster Jazz, Monster Acoustic, Radio Shack, Mogami...thanks, dy.

Spectraflex and Fender cloth bound.
Here's a cool site for unusual and hard to find effects:

Planet Waves is marketing one with a built in kill switch. A good idea, though I wonder how long the switch will last.
A few years ago I bought a spool of Canarie Cable 605 and a box of plugs and soldered up several of various lengths. This way I always have one as long as I need but not too long, reducing signal loss. I mostly use these between pedals and amp, preferring the soft braided cord (Vintage) from the instrument. The home made ones however have never failed and get used all day in my teaching business, so I guess it was a worthy investment.
Don't go cheap, get a backup set, and use as short a cord as possible.
Whatever happened to curly cords?
Peace, Mooh.
Good info, thanx, I will eyeball Monster Cables...I'll keep you posted....dy.
I like the spectraflex. the handling characteristics of the braided sheath are better,
Proco silent plug cable has one connector that would allow hot swapping instruments 'silent knight/starguard' models.
now if they can be #on the same product, not 2 different companys...

Neutrik (Fem)Mic cable end has an on/off switch, a cable with a built in volume pot would be slick for the passive pickup, while tuning with the Intelitouch.

I heard that Bill Lawrence sells a cable kit.

Somewhere recently there was a good article about cords. I'm thinking it was Vintage Guitar magazine, but I can't put my hands on it right now. Anyone seen it?
Peace, Mooh.
George L's

don't be put off by the pix on the website...they make GREAT stuff...
Steve Kimock endorsed and he is a freak about such things
Yes, that artice was in Vintage Guitar--I don't remember which issue, but it was definitely that mag.
I'll also second the George L's recommendation. I've got a Monster of some sort for the instrument -> first effect, but little short George L's between the stompboxen. They're sold in bits (& also kits of bits...): bulk cable by the foot & solderless plugs, both straight & right-angle. Scored pretty well in the VG roundup, too, if memory serves....
RolandTumble...Thanks, I'll dig a little further for that article. Great handle by the way!
Peace, Mooh.
Curly cords can be purchased from Ed Roman guitars in Las Vegas.Originally Posted by (Mooh @ Feb. 25 2005, 07:20)
