Default ATM350 Audio Technica mic mounted on stock Baggs Radius mount

Mounting microphones seems to be a problem especially the ATM 350 clip on model. Often players, including myself, purchase this excellent sounding professional grade microphone and sadly leave it in a drawer with other miscellaneous items (as can be read in other posts). With the help of other cafe members suggestions I have figured out a very functional and versatile way to mount this microphone using the Baggs Radius pick up mount. I happen to have this pick up in my accessories drawer. I personally find the Baggs Pickup has too much quack noise to my liking! However it has a great mount.
I am including pics to illustrate. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
The small parts needed could be readily found at any hardware store:
1.25 inch wing nut diameter 5/8 inch with matching nut
2 regular sink washers with a curved surface to fit and centre the wing nut In the Baggs radius (these conical surfaces center the wing nut screw and stabilize the microphone.
Small piece of hardware (junk!) which will be used to clip on the microphone
    Elastic band (optional)

    Steps:
Carefully Remove the pickup from the Baggs Mount
Place the hardware Junk! On the wing nut then add the first washer with CONICAL surface facing towards the outside surface of the Baggs mount. Insert through the Baggs mount. Add the second washer with CONICAL surface facing the Baggs mount. Use the nut to fasten.
I use the rubber band for 2 purposes however this is optional:
Acts as a Spacer between the metal arms of the Baggs mount to protect my mandolin
Acts as a Suspension system for the microphone wire so I don't unknowingly walk to far with my mando!
It is not necessary at all.
What's nice about this mounting system is the ability to loosen the wing nut and reposition the microphone. No other mount offers this. You will find the microphone solidly positioned.Click image for larger version.

    Nice!
What's the measure of the "junk" piece where the clip is clamped? And what is the maximum width that the clip can open?

Any Carpenter Jack would work, right?

Couldn't you just cut the carpenter jack's width down so the clip could go right on it? Or would the jaws hit the top? Great idea. I'm thinking about a clip on mic--tired of the pickup sound.

    Roberto!
The microphone clip opens to a maximum of 11 mm. The clip width is about 5 mm. This mechanically holds the microphone securely to the carpenter jack support. Great microphone for the price.
Hope this helps. If you want more info just PM me.

once you have the Viola Chin rest clamp piece, the block of wood you make
to screw it into, could be made, as you think the shape is, best.

cannot see if 1 jaw slides into the channel of the extruded aluminum piece,

but if it did that would make bonus points on security in the mount..
