Weird... I subscribed to this thread, but never got any emails that it had replies.

Thanks for all of the useful information, I really appreciate it. I don't have unrealistic expectations. ...

    How to price used Weber

I have a Weber Gallatin F Wide nut that I want to sell. I don't know where to start as far as pricing. The retail now seems to be higher than when I bought mine a year and a half ago.

    It's...

Re: Long Hollow Leather Softy strap?

It's my favorite strap ever. It's very comfortable, the perfect width, especially on the shoulder. And it just plain looks great.

    Re: Gotoh Tuner Question

Maybe the GT-160-G was the old stock number.

The MF-40-G is listed on their site.

Replied, but I was way off after reading your post again. I thought one was A style, and the other was F style.

    Re: John Pearse armrests

I had to look it up, as I had never heard of a JP armrest. It's a permanent addition, so once it's on... it's on, until you pry it off. I read that it can damage the finish when it comes off. I...
  7. Re: HIGH DOLLAR PICKS....Yea or Nay?? Do you Use One or No Way??

Yeah, they're pretty darn good. I have quite a selection, and one I've been using on mando is the 3mm Trias. The 2mm Trias sounds great as well.

Another one that sounds really good is the...
  8. Re: How Many Use an TUNER APP on your Phone to Tune With?

I use ClearTune as well. It's probably the best I've used. I just downloaded the Peterson Strobe app, and it's pretty good. Haven't gotten a chance to mess with it too much. I have the Peterson...

Re: Got to see Mike Compton...

Nope, had no idea who he was. He played a few banjo tunes, and something on fiddle. Great player, and wonderful story teller. Turns out he lives in Chillicothe, Ohio... just 40 or 50 miles south...

    Re: A bold ToneRite claim

I noticed a big difference when I used a ToneRite on my Martin with an Adi top. I played it all of the time, but after a year and a half it just didn't sound like I thought it should. About 4 days...

    Got to see Mike Compton...

Went to a workshop and a show later that night. It was a John Hartford Tribute show: Mike Compton, Paul Brown, Tony Ellis, and Adam Schlenker (my guitar teacher). They all played individually solo...

    Re: Gorilla Snot

I think it varies for each person. I think the grip-ability of Blue Chips is terrible. Way too slippery for me.

I've had to use a piece of 800 grit sandpaper on my other picks for better...

    Re: nickel strings

I just checked on the Gibson Sam Bush strings, which I've tried. Gibson's description is monel over steel. I've tried several nickel plated, and didn't like any of them. I'm hooked on 80/20 at the...
  15. Re: HIGH DOLLAR PICKS....Yea or Nay?? Do you Use One or No Way??

I used to use BlueChip, but I don't like the fact that they don't 'wear'. They're too slippery for my taste.

I had a guy in Holland, who makes picks for primarily Gypsy Jazz players, make me...

Re: I wanna soak up info on strings

After reading this post yesterday I decided to give the 80/20 a try again. I had a couple sets left from when I was trying out strings, Martin 80/20 Bluegrass. I couldn't believe how much better my...

    Re: Grover tuners problem

I used the new tuners with the old bushings and they work just fine. So I wouldn't think that the holes in the peg head were off.

The new ones are Grovers as well. They're just all nickel...

    Re: Grover tuners problem

I feel it was definitely the black matte finish that was the issue. Even with no strings on they still weren't all that smooth, even after loosening the gears and some TriFlow.

    I ordered new...

    Re: Grover tuners problem

Good to know. They look great, but the function is poor. I think I might just replace them with the nickel. It would be nice to tune without frustration.

Thanks for your input, George. I...

    Grover tuners problem

Does anyone else have these Grover tuners with black matte finish? They're on my Weber Yellowstone, and they're quite bothersome. Really stiff, not smooth at all. I loosened the gears just a hair...

    Re: Arm rest for Weber?

I think you'll have much better luck with it working, since the top edge is bound on your Bitterroot. Gives it at least one edge for it to sit flush.

    Re: Arm rest for Weber?

I had the same issue with my Weber Gallatin-F. It's not bound on the back or front, and very rounded on both edges. Doug sent me a new arm with a longer wood attachment that he fabricated with...

Re: New pick, but which ?

I use the Trias pretty much exclusively, the 1.5mm and 2.0mm. It's a great material. He has a new material in ivory color that's beautiful. Just ordered some, but they haven't arrived yet.

Re: New pick, but which ?

I had some custom picks made by a guy in Holland. They're made of cotton fiber. Best material I've used, and will keep on using. He added these to his normal line of picks. I own 5 of these :)
