  2. Re: New Artistworks Bluegrass Mandolin with Sierra Hull!

My first thought was "Darn, I'm already paying for Mike Marshall, isn't there a way I can add this and not pay twice as much?"
My second thought was, "Mike's content would be a deal at twice the...

    Re: Kentucky KM-1500 (Amazing Deal)

The remaining KM-1500 in stock on amazon.ca was back up to $3434.32 for the last few days. It just dropped to $2247. Not sure I will even try to resist if it goes down to $1700 again. I thought...

    Re: Kentucky KM-1500 (Amazing Deal)

And it's gone. Thank goodness, I was not going to be able to resist after I'd had a couple of glasses of wine. I would for sure have clicked 'buy now' later this evening.

    Though there is still one...

    Re: Kentucky KM-1500 (Amazing Deal)

Congratulations! I was watching the same one and wondering whether a cafe member snagged it. I got my KM-950 the same way, watching the price drop and snagging it when it got too good to wait any...

Re: If your gonna speed neck it....

I thought 'speed' referred to how fast you can move your hand while playing, not how little time it took to do the job of taking the finish off the neck!

    Re: Seagull S8 Owners Thread

Yep. Just something about the way it feels that I really love, and the sound is perfect for my playing these days (I barely take O'Neill's and Ryan's Mammoth off my music stand right now). Love my...

Re: Canadian buyers: good deal on KM-950

After shooting back up to $2200 CDN after I bought one of the two in stock back in April, the price of the KM-950 on amazon.ca has gradually gone down again and is currently at $1038.05 CDN (~750...

    Re: Free Waterloo Mandolin

Just checked and there is no 'drooling' emoji available, so yes, 'interested' is another way of putting it.

    Re: Seagull S8 Owners Thread

I just picked one up. It needs new strings, and I am wondering what Seagull puts on, or what others use. I am thinking a light gauge, not my usual J74s.

    Re: "New" KM-DAWG

Well, it is back up for sale by the same person, but my reply has gone unanswered for more than 24 hours. Very odd that the owner did not get back to me or anyone else last time, and seems...
  16. Roger Alan Wade, Brainerd Road Café Blues

A really nice tune I heard on Outlaw Country today. I found the chorus particularly evocative, even if it runs contrary to the conventional wisdom around here.

  17. Re: Who makes a good inexpensive Octave Mandolin?

The Mandolin Store just sent out an email about these a few days ago: https://themandolinstore.com/product/eastman-md305-a-octave-mandolin/

And there is also the Trinity College:...

Re: Just staring in to the figure

The flame on the back my old Hopf violin and the back of my Weber Yellowstone (as well as the medullary rays in the top) are trance inducing indeed. Even the grain on the top of my KM-150 gets me...

Re: My mandolin got eaten by a Stratocaster.

So a couple weeks ago I returned the MIM Tele (I had put it in the basement to make room for the Christmas tree, and it was not getting played much). I thought I was over my momentary electric phase....

    Re: Can never enough "Orange"

I too love Mandolin Orange, and I do like their name. However, when it was noted by someone around here that it might be a play on words (an aspect of the name that had completely eluded me), well,...

Re: Help deciding on a new mandolin

I saw that on a spec sheet but have not seen a photo of of a 300 with the cast tailpiece yet. That would be something.
  24. Re: New player and I need lesions suggestions.

  25. Re: New player and I need lesions suggestions.

I have not seen his Bluegrass Mandolin 101 advertised around here recently, so I am not sure if he is still offering it, but from what I saw of his lessons in the open access versions a few years...
