My fingers have bent so there is no way I can fret like I should. I have picked up a tenor banjo. It's Irish tuned so it frets like the mandolin and I use a pick.

I'm late finding this thread. I have tinnitus and frequency deft at certain points. It seems the army didn't care much about earplugs. I was told nothing could cure it. Of course it could be the...
I love my 400. I haven't picked up my F5 since I got it.
Any thing that Jethro Burns does is great.
My 1st and 3rd fingers are bent in the wrong direction. It wasn't until I got Jethro Burns' book that I started to "cheat" and just use what I have.

I would suggest you take a look at "The Loar" mandolins. I got mine from Big Joe and am really happy with it. Re strings, I've been happy with the D'Addario J74 strings. Good luck.
Thanks for the site. It means a lot.
I love my 400. My F5 stays in the case these days.
Oop! Better light says my number is #41 instead of 40. :(
Howdy. I got mine from Big Joe. I haven't picked up my F5 since I got it. My friend has a Glenn. I think it's as good as his but that's my opinion, not his. :)
Mine dates 2 February 2010, Number 40. I hadn't even thought about it but find it interesting. Thanks.
Thanks Mike. I don't know why I didn't check the database.
Does anone know where he is at or what he is doing these days?
I'm going to give it a try. Thanks!
You guys have cost me more money! :) I ordered a copy today.
Big Joe put a CA bridge on my 400 and I'm glad he did. Like has been said, it took it to the next level.
Thanks guys! I think your right. It's my timing. I'll keep listening and working on it.
Woodwizard that's interesting.
Yes that's the one. I seem to have the notes but still am having trouble making it right. I guess I'll just keep at it. Your right of course, it's basic but it's my bug-a-boo for some reason.
I can't seem to get the run quite right by ear. Can someone point me to a tab for it?
Tanks!
I don't know what you're native language is but don't worry about it. You are doing well.
Hey Musicians Friend! Re: the banjo quip. I represent that. :)
Thanks! I needed a chuckle.
The neck is a plus for my old bent fingers. If I can save enough before the prices jump I plan on trading my F5 for a 6 or 700. Not that I need one. :)
[B]I'm glad you can't see the foolish grin on my face!
I got my 400 in from Big Joe's today. I was blown away. Thanks Joe!
