Try relaxing not only your hand, but your arms, traps and back. Let the instrument to the work. But if the pain continues...STOP!!
I highly recommend a Breedlove oval hole. I love mine, it's so sweet for NFLD/Irish music. Built great, solid, lots of volume.
I use a Radial PZ-Pre for all my instruments. Fantastic unit, i highly recommend it!!
I have a Breedlove oval hole mandolin that is my only mandolin,so it gets lots of Live use. Feedback was an awful problem but in started putting a microphone windscreen into the sound hole. Works...
I've been using them for the last year or so.Really nice warm strings, very "woody" sounding on my Beeedlove OO. I actually just put on a set of my old standby ,J-75's. Just for a change. Really...
On my 17fretter,I take a Daddario ITB set, discard the high E and start with the 2nd string as the "E" and buy seperate 0.44's for the low G.

If it's any good to you, and you're willing to make a long distance call, call Long & Mcquade in St.Johns Newfoundland. Ask for Rick Lambe, he's the manager.
Rick used to work at Griffiths Guitar...
BTW, the gauges I've got on now are; 16-24-36-44
I have a Goldtone IT-250R, and it's been hellish trying to break it in/get it to sound remotely good and hold it's tuning. I've had to go with a heavier string gauge than the 14-40 sets that are...
Not yet,but I'm courious as well. I love my PZ-Pre ,but something more compact would be cool too.
An Icon,
Thanks Pete.
NAMM's just around the corner,I wouldn't be surprised if we see a sig set unveiled.
Lol,nope. All of mine have the "e" too.
Beautiful!! Enjoy making music with that.
Hello, from up here in even colder Fort Vermilion!!
When I play Gypsy Jazz guitar,I use a fairly stout pick (3.5mm,5mm Wegen, and 2.75 Red Bear's) with the traditional rest stroke technique which, combined with the natural volume of a Selmer styled...
When I was 3, my Dad came home with a Mandolin for me. a Stella H331.
Being a stunned kid, I dragged that thing around, beat on it and eventually left it out in the rain and it disintegrated!!
He's...
If you include Newfoundland, count me in!!
I've just started using a TC HOF mini in my acoustic chain. I've loaded K&K's in all my acoustic instruments and the HOF,set not-too-dramatically is really nice. Small footprint,quiet,true...
On my non-satin finished instruments,I use good ol Zippo lighter fluid on a Dunlop cloth. Works amazingly well.
Of course, use in a well ventilated area and smoke afterwards/not during....
It's...
I love my Breedlove OO. Worth the $$$ at full price!!
A mechanic doesn't just use one wrench?
An artist,one brush or color.
An EMT,one sized needle or Tube.
Different tools for different jobs/needs.
I go back & forth between a V-pick Tremolo,Jazzmando,Tremolo pointed, and the Wegen. Lately though, I've been using some Red Bear models that are just fantastic.
I use the K &K and have had feedback issues with a really loud band. I stuffed a microphone windscreen into the sound hole of my Breedlove oval hole, and nix'd the problem.
Fantastic pickup.
