The closest is in Nashville, and they don't keep them in stock. I'd really like to have one on hand to evaluate before buying.
Where did you buy yours?
Alan,
Would you consider boarding a plane with your Gil in this case?
Thanks
I have a Collings MF5 that resides in a Hiscox case. I had to do lots of modification to the padding to get a good fit. The neck support is still loose such that I have to add a non attached pad...
Tim, I noticed you have a Northfield Big Mon. Have you (or anybody) compared your Hiscox to Northfield's Airloom case?
I had to customize mine. I fattened up the two bumpers near the tailpiece, and added padding under the neck. Made a nice snug fit for my Collings. If you contact Hiscox they will send extra pads....
I was a little disappointed.
Awesome photos, Tim.
I especially appreciate the Hiscox comparison shots.
Tim, would you please post the dimensions of the accessory compartment?
Great review, Tim.
I can't get the google album link to work either.
Tim,
How about that review?
Any idea how much it weighs?
Thanks, mandroid. I have seen that video. I was hoping to get a cafe member's opinions.
My hope is to find a small, powerful, easily portable unit that our 5 piece bluegrass band can use. We are...
These look very promising. Just wondered if anybody has one that would give a review.
Do your mandolins fit snugly?
Have you had it long enough to form an opinion?
I just wondered if they were having trouble with just two latches.
I just noticed the newer Hiscox mandolin cases (grey interior) now have 4 latches instead of 2. Has anybody bought a new one? Does it really need 4 latches?
Thanks for all the interesting discussion. (No, TonyP, you were in no way disrespectful!)
I volunteer to run sound at our church, mostly as a way to serve, but partly to learn what I can about...
Good points, Tony. We have learned the hard way what you can and cannot do with a LDC. We have had better luck with 2 small condensers in an XY arrangement.
We recently played a family reunion in...
This SA-220 looks like it might be just the thing. I like that it has 48 volt phantom power where the Loudbox only has 24.
Any users/owners have any thoughts or experience using a large diaphragm...
Our 5 piece bluegrass band often plays venues that are too small for our full sound system (2 speakers on stands, amp, mixer), yet some sound reinforcement would be nice.
I've been wondering if...
When we say bigger we mean only in thickness. The width and length are the same as my rectangular TKL.
Yet, it is 2lbs lighter even with all the same stuff I have to lug to all our gigs.

(Remember, it only has one "s".)
Congratulations on the Northfield.
