Yes Sir!!!!!
Thanks for the info!
Thanks for the recommendations. Are these guys in some type of ensemble or is it just solo mandolin pieces?
So a bluegrasser might also use an A-style mando, but it will likely have the f-holes instead of the oval hole. Is the mando with f-holes louder than the one with an oval hole?
WOuld an oval hole mando be too loud or resonant for bluegrass?
OK, so there is no sound quality that makes an F better for bluegrass? Its just appearance and history.
What do you call a banjo player without a girlfriend?
Homeless!!
I'm a banjo player & don't have any trouble laughing at myself.
I recently heard part of a cd entitled Celtic Mandolin. I thought it was great. What else should I listen to for this style of music?
THANKS!
I am curious why almost all bluegrassers use the F-style mandos. Is there a benefit? Is the sound different or is it just a cosmetics thing? IF you went to a bluegrasss jam with an A-style would they...
What about Squeally Dan?
or
Oreo Speedwagon
Is thier a website somewhere that lists all the different scales?
THANKS!

I'm not the best to answer this question, but it sounds like you only fret one of the two strings in a pair.
I actually played a 1 off gig with a bunch of psychologists at a psych conference. The name we chose was N.O.S. Great minds think alike!
This is an interesting topic. When I bought my MK mando, they gave me 2 days to try it out. The 1st thing I did was take it to a friend that can actually play mando. I just wanted him to tell me if...
I used to work on a psychiatric unit. I have a degree in psychology & nutrition. Right now I counsel patients who are planning on gastric bypass surgery. I am also working to get my Master's in...
Ira-
Congrats on the cd! You SHOULD be proud! Are you a psychologist or something? Does NOS stand for "Not Otherwise Specified."
So a different tailpiece makes that much difference? What improves? Tone? Volume?
I think your input is interesting & useful. DOn't quit posting. THe other posters can decide how to use the info. you provide. YOur not forcing anyone to buy your mandolin. I for one, would love to...
I have an MK FS that I like. Does the tail piece really make that much difference? I hate to spend money on this mandolin that I could possibly save a put towards an upgrade (non-mass produced...
Thats why I would atleast need some kind of guess as to how much it would cost to fix. THANKS!
I was thinking of maybe buying a broken mandolin & having it repaired. The headstock is completely detached from the rest ofthe mandolin. The guy claims it happened in shipping. It looks like all the...
Ooops! My bad. I should have known it was a Gibson.
What kinda mando is that you have there? It got an MK a couple weeks ago and it looks just like that.
I also saw Nickel Creek from the 3rd row a few nights ago. I really enjoyed it. What did you...
Good idea! Why didn't I think of that!
Steve Perry sells violins. Did he quit Journey?
