I second, Town Mountain - Southern Crescent and Sam Bush - Storyman. The new Billy Strings EP is also great. The new Greensky Bluegrass album is also getting a lot of playtime in my house.
I agree. I got to play some great mandolins the year I went, but it was hard hearing them. I really enjoyed talking with all the builders too.
Rawlings playing those old Epiphone helped drive the prices up. Not really el cheapo anymore.
Somebody got wise to what they had.
Thanks for posting. I happened to catch it live and looked for it shorty after to post here, but no luck. Andrews new album is pretty good, no mandolin however.
Greensky put Newson mandolins on my radar. I still have not had a chance to play one yet. But, it appears their prices have jumped up since I first heard about them.
I'm set to see Greensky twice...
I can say that. Unless I need to downgrade. Hopefully, this is never the case. I truly love my Ellis.
I've got both the Sam and Alan and Grisman album. Both are great. I agree the Grisman and Garcia album is probably one of the best sounding records I've heard. This past week I got a great copy of...
I'm not a Facebooker, so I can only respond here. I would go if it's the right date.
Looking for a good book with a variety of tunes (reels, horn pipes, waltz, etc). Thanks!
No GBOM option? Maybe they will still make me one!
Do you have a picture of the new clamp on the red snark? I still love mine, but the Polytune did look Pretty cool. I was reading some Amazon reviews of the Polytune and one reviewer had pictures of...
Smoky Mountain Guitars is not too far outside of Asheville, maybe 45 mins. Check their website before you make the drive.
Teddy Bears' Picnic, the song and whole album (Garcia and Grisman). Ain't no bugs on me off the same album.
Frog on a Lilly Pad - Monroe
There was a Givens A5 at the IBMAs about two years ago. That thing sounded great even with all the background noise. That same year there was Nugget A I couldn't put down, but the Givens had it beat.
I second that!
Duane Allman box set, Jerry Garcia Almost Acoustic, Dawg Grass, Jimmy Smith Christmas Cookin'
No such luck as far as instruments go, but I found a signed Bill Monroe lp for $7. The store manager seemed dismayed that he missed it, but he sold it to me for $7 as marked. Now if I would have put...
Man that's one good looking mandolin!
I second that! Pictures please.
I second what Tobin said, I love music too much for it to be a job and it's a way for me to escape my worries. Plus I need to up my skills before I go pro. I've got a pro level mandolin however, it's...
Looks to be in great shape. Great score.
The awards are live right now on UNCEX for most PBS channels in NC.
