    Sumi was the most famous luthier that worked at markuro plant in japan therefore sumi built something on the mandolin because they were a team and being that sumi's name is known for quality...

    I am sure loyd loar did not build all his signed mandolins completely by himself either don't you think he had some helpers their with him at gibson but yet we refer to them as loars.
