Bridal wreath i used to own that mando. I've owned a lot of mandos and that was my all time favorite. Plays great, projects really well( better than several higher end gibsons I've played) nice...
had one of the earlier 500s. they kinda had a bad wrap, but mine wernt to bad. so these new ones ought to be fineren frog hair! got my fingers crossed!:mandosmiley:
i've had eastmans,many kentuckys,several loars,M.M.s,independent builders, and a gibson a9.the a9 surpasses the rest by leaps and bounds. it cost around 900 used.can't beat the classifieds right...
they are great pics. got one of the transparent tremelo pics and liked it. only problem is... being it was clear, i lost that sucker in 2 days.my next one wont be transparent!
we spend thousands to get a mando with great tone and VOLUME. put off buyin a toneguard for years cause 75$ was too high?? finally broke down and got one...should have spent less on mando and bought...
you're gonna have a lotta fun!! i played guitar myself for 30 years before i picked up a mandolin. been playin 7 years now and love it more every day. havn't been this eat up with it since i was 13....
you'll do well and get more for your money in the classifieds.in a few years you could get most or all your money back when you start playin concerts and need more mando, or you decide to take up...

bought a kentucky 150 on ebay a while back for 115 bucks, which is about average price for that model on ebay.i've owned a ky 1000and a ky 700 and i was amazed at the quality of the 150. i don't...
i guess i'm a little crazy, but i really like the look and finish of the f9s and jammasters better than the shiny, fancy, triple bound mandos. congradulations northfork!
just moved from eastman and kentucky to a june by walter johnson.got me a ky 150 for a backup. never had ne problem selling a mandolin to get another...and i would love to have one of those dandy...

i've owned eastman and one of the top of the line mms. there's just no comparison in the two. 300win said it right...mms are way to thick for the instrument to kick out much sound. however i havn't...
wow! it's amazing all the tiny things that can make such a difference in the sound of a mandolin.reenforces the fact i have no business working on one.
