Thanks mandosquirrel.... I had been thinking of tremolo as subdividing the beat in a rhythmic way, and so i thought there might be some discussion or instructions regarding this.
I have a question about the Method itself.
On the first page, Calace discusses the primary importance of the tremolo and then defines tremolo as "rapid up-and-down strokes of the pick... varying...
stevie, there are two modes the stroboclip can use for displaying, one is NOR for normal, the other is SUS for sustain. if you had switched to SUS you would have gotten a more stable display.
Hi Jim, the stroboclip fits nicely on a mandolin or guitar and the swivel head is easy to position. I have more trouble using it on a fiddle. On a fiddle, the best for me has been to clip it on the...
Ditto.
But this has been something like a debate on the effects of alcohol, where one of the lead debaters has never touched a drop!
However, finally, after many days, all debaters have at least managed...
Bows can be relatively expensive. They break more easily and certain damages, unlike with violins, can't be repaired. I don't know as I've yet heard of a bow selling for a million dollars but it's...
I think a decimal point slipped. Using the above numbers, the cost of a ToneRite is about .6%, not 6%, of the cost of a Gil.
When I had questions like these, I contacted support at tonerite.com. They answer quickly. Also, joining the Owner's Forum at that website is a good thing to do. Ryan Frankel, who seems to answer...
Wow, I did not know that!
I do know what you mean, Tim, and I admit, commenting on a typo was a cheap shot....:). You're right about out of tune mandolins. Of the various instruments that I've played, guitar, banjo, violin,...
:)
hmm, something fishy about this statement
Well put, Rob.
I got mine today too. I was disappointed when I took it out of the box because its silvery plastic case looked cheesy to me. (I guess the plastic cases of the other tuners looked less cheesy...
Yup, mine shipped from Elderly this morning. The manual (all one page of it) is up in pdf form on the Peterson website. The manual states that there are sweetened tunings for both banjo and...
I'm thinking that a test conducted by the manufacturer of a controversial product, to validate that product, would not settle many arguments.
I can't quantify other than to say that, in my experience, the increase in resonance is temporary.
With print-on-demand, a book is more possible than it would have been once.
Seems to me, to summarize what I've read in this thread, that a number of people have said that they find some benefit from the ToneRite. Another set of people have responded with, "Prove it." ...
I realize that this is topic drift, but I thought the Authentic uses hide glue while the GE doesn't???
Rick, what are VOCs?
by "growing pains" i meant the discomforts of having new management and making a big geographic move
growing pains?
Joe, I've found that the ToneRite on a mandolin seems to bring out the bass. That might explain your Loar 400's improved G string. I've also found that if I crank the ToneRite to its strongest...
Hi Perry, the Bach Double Violin Concerto in D is one that's often played. Here's a wiki link:

And here's a link from the wiki that...
