I already am Jim! haha
I posted several threads on here asking about a bunch of different mandolins. I finally got one. It's a Morgan Monroe MMS-8. For my second mandolin, looks and sounds great. Thanks to everyone who...

yeah this is gonna be my christmas present with about $400 of mine thrown in too but im hoping they didnt already get one hahaha. and i have a few local places as well
Jim, if i were to buy it and not like it how much do u think i could sell it for? The only thing about those is the neck size. If i got it i might get used to it or i may not.
haha Mike its just that i couldnt find what i was looking for so i had to open up
i dont have the money to buy both and do that. thats why im asking, i only have enought to buy one or the other
Ive posted 3 or 4 threads trying to narrow this down. I think Im either between "The Loar" 500 model
OR
"Morgan Monroe" MMS-8
BOTH: come with a hardcase, a tuner, a book, and a DVD.
MM= $629...
Yessir Im actually gonna be down their way in a week so i might give it a look. I was actually trying to decide between the Eastman 315 and the Morgan Monroe MMS-8 after hearing negative things about...
Thanks Dave. It looks and sounds pretty good. Pretty decent price as well. haha theyre popular WAAAAY up there
Good mandolin for the price of $629? Comes with a case, tuner, and a book. Lifetime warranty. Top-Solid carved spruce. Back-Solid flmaed Maple. Nut-Pearl. Ebony Bridge.
The necks are the same size as what?
Big Joe, I dont like the neck size of the 600...other than that its probably the top in its price range.
I heard many Kentuckys are hit or miss though. I might try to find an Eastman as well. The Loar 520 i saw on their website but i couldnt find it anywhere...MAYBE because it hasnt come out yet haha. I...
Alright. Ive been weighing my options. I had my mind SET on "The Loar" 500, but after hearing that its not worth the price of the 600 or even the 400 Im open to more brands, imports, whatever...A...

okay thanks brent. yeah i wish they wouldve made a nice f style with the small neck, great sound, look, and then it wouldve had the playability!!! ill take a look at the 400 even though ive been...
i like the feel of the 500 and the look. but the 600 sounds WAY better and i can get it for i think $50 more than the 500 at this store. I just dont like the neck size because my hands are small
how much would it cost to get it "refinished"
Is there anyway to get/make a smaller neck on the mandolin?
Well whats "obvious" to you may not be "obvious" to me. Ive been playing for barely a year and have only owned a starter Savannah mandolin. Thats why im asking these questions. If i knew that it took...
Dave what exactly are the "cafe sponsors"?
And the reasons why?
This discussion has really gotten away from the main point. I understand theres instruments in south america, australia, europe, new zealand etc.,etc....but im looking for something i can get pretty...
The only thing i didnt like about the 600 is the neck size. Im noly 16 so my hand isnt big enough really for the 600 since its based off of...The Loyd Loar F-5??? I think thats correct.
