You can get the video on hulu.
Maybe I missed this posted somewhere else, but did anyone notice that Sam Bush screwed up the ending of Dierks Bentley's tune on Leno the other night? It looked to me like everyone stopped, and Sam...
Wow, I never thought of taking the finish off... I'd love to see photos if you post them.
I've been away from the mando for about a year and a half and got the hankerin to get back into it so I bought an Eastman 505 cause it was cheap (thanks for the transaction Burlington Guitar!!). ...
"Old Joe Clark wasn't on Late as Usual. #That was Glamour and Grits,"
Oops - I guess all my favorites blend into one glorious album in my mind! #It's actually pretty convenient that way...
Late as Usual - the slide mandolin version of Old Joe clark is one of my favorites. And Laps in Seven is a close second.
Awesome show! #Tony went on a mini-diatribe about the state of music today. #He went on about how he likes to go to a store, hold the music in his hand, hand the clerk cash, and that's the end of the...
I'm going to see them in New Haven in May and am very excited! Does anyone know who the current members are and has anyone seen him on his current tour?
How would you do an in person transaction with someone you've never met? I'd be uncomfortable handing over my mandolin to a stranger and having him hand me a check of some kind that I wouldn't know...
Hey Cary - glad to hear you're thinking of making it to a festival in the states this year - that looney should go far! Anyway, we usually go to Strawberry Park last weekend of May, then Greyfox in...
I just bought one of the H2 units mainly to record jams and I have a very basic question. What is the difference between the bit number and the Hz number? I know bigger is better but what does each...
I was warned before buying it but I went for it anyway. I really like it maybe since I wasn't expecting straight ahead bluegrass from the start. The harmonies are classic King Wilkie - beautiful and...
The other new up and commer that I frequently hear about is Andrew Mowry. Anyone have any experience comparing his instruments with BRW?
It occurred to me that I would love to own something like this after reading the liner notes to Tone Poems where Grisman describes all the different classic mandolins and the features and differences...
Is there a coffee table type book similar to the Martin Guitar book but for mandolins? I'd be interested in something with good photos and descriptions of important models in the history of the...
Skip Gorman is a great Monroe style player. Try out some of his recordings I think "Old Style Mandolin" and "Mandolin in the Cow Camp" is also fantastic.
I'll be going for my third year. I've got to say though that I've been playing more guitar then mandolin lately (gasp!). But hopefully I'll get re-inspired by all the fabulous pickers there!
Handbrake for Mac will convert DVDs to quicktime files without converting to VIDEO_TS first. They can go right onto your ipod. Couldn't be simpler. Not sure if there is a PC version though. As for...
I've seen Ron Thomason use a sock or sweatband on his arm where it contacts his Loar.
Brad - correct me if I'm wrong but the iRiver doesn't automatically sync with iTunes does it? It's treated like a removable drive so you have to do all your file transferring manually. And how does...
Thistle and Shamrock is first rate. Also Celtic Connections is pretty good. I don't bother with podcasts since they tend to be limited and in some cases abridged versions of the radio show. I use a...
The 5th generation iPods allow for CD quality recording. It's only recently that some third party manufacturers have come out with mics though. If I didn't already have a 4th generation unit which I...
Check out Phil Rosenthal's stuff. My son listened to his CD's from the time he was 2.

I'll be camping there with family in tow. Was there once before and am looking forward to the great line-up!
